The tools you need to take care of your dryer are pretty simple. You'll just need a hose attachment for your vacuum cleaner, a flashlight and a vent brush or other long, thin brush with coarse bristles.
Keep the inside of your dryer clean. Even though lint is supposed to collect in the lint filter, it can also build up inside your dryer. Have a look with your flashlight, and if you see lint clinging to the insides of your dryer, wipe it off.
Be sure to clean your lint filter every time you use your dryer. If lint or debris gets stuck in the filter, you may need to rinse it or even wash it with a little dish soap. You can use a toothbrush to scrub off stubborn spots. Use your flashlight to look under and behind the filter too. Sometimes lint can collect here and this interferes with good air circulation. Clear this let out using your coarse bristled brush.
